About Boldly Quiet Consulting

I'm Lorraine McCamley

Owner of Boldly Quiet Consulting

At Boldly Quiet Consulting, I help people navigate life’s pivotal transitions with clarity, courage, and purpose. Whether you’re stepping into retirement, taking on new responsibilities for aging parents, or simply ready to reimagine what’s next, this is a space for thoughtful reflection and bold action.

For much of my life, I lived by default — drifting along, taking advantage of opportunities but without a clear sense of direction. I allowed others to define who I was and what I would be good at (or not). It never really occurred to me that I had choices — choices that could lead me in a completely different direction, choices that could dramatically change my life.

I received my undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary right after high school, and for decades, I never seriously considered going back to school. Thirty years later, I made what I consider the first big choice about my life direction: I enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania to earn my master’s in Organizational Dynamics, concentrating in Organizational Coaching and Leading and Managing Change. As I met people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, it felt like a door to a new world was opening — one that was both scary and exciting. This door ultimately led to Boldly Quiet Consulting.

A new chapter

I quickly learned, on this new path of leaving the corporate world and starting my own business, that I had to redefine who I was — in my own words, in my own heart — and decide what success looked like for me. What was my message, both to myself and to others? From that reflection, the Boldly Quiet Manifesto was born — a series of “I WILL” statements that serve as daily reminders of the intentional choices I can make to show up authentically and live with no regrets.

These "I WILL" statements became the basis of my book, Boldly Quiet: An Introvert’s Guide to Developing the Mindset of a Successful Leader, a guide to building confidence, influence, and impact while staying true to your authentic self.

An inevitable transition

When I set my mind to something, I go for it with determination and focus. But there was one story I ignored, even as it unfolded right in front of me: the aging of my parents. Looking back, I kick myself for not preparing — not only logistically (legal, financial, medical), but emotionally. When my parents needed help, I did the best I could, but I often felt buried under the weight of being overwhelmed. This experience deeply shaped my coaching philosophy. One of my goals now is to help others successfully navigate this inevitable transition in life with more preparation, compassion, and confidence than I had. I’m also memorializing my journey with my parents in a book I hope to publish soon.

Continuing to Grow

In 2024, my husband and I made another bold choice — moving to the Aveyron region of France, near a small city two hours from Toulouse. The experience of leaving the familiar, embracing uncertainty, and building a new life from the ground up informs how I coach: with empathy, insight, and a steady focus on practical action. And learning a new language definitely keeps the brain cells busy!

If you're ready to stop drifting and start choosing--to move forward boldly and with purpose--I'd love to help you create your next chapter.
